"Teepee Town" is the ultimate outdoor getaway. It's a portable Teepee camping lodge that can be setup anywhere in almost any weather environment with the sole purpose of outdoor action adventures. Whether it's set up for snowboarding at 10,000ft or surfing at sea level we can always use the Teepee to find a great spot to camp, ride and film with friends.
Created by Mason Mason, Teepee town is not one place but is a mobile Teepee lodge that changes based on where the conditions are best. Each spot is chosen for two main reasons - It's great for riding and it is visually stunning. Snowboarding, mountain biking, surfing and base jumping is just the beginning of what's possible. Teepee town is a 365 day adventure and is not limited to any season or sport.
Teepee spots are first located by plane or helicopter, an aerial perspective is the most efficient way of finding a perfect area. Once a zone has been chosen the Teepee canvas is air lifted out, poles are made on site and the fun begins.
Mason Mashon is a Cree native and action sports photographer who was born and raised in British Columbia. Currently living in Whistler, BC, Mason created the idea of the portable Teepee lodge and is the pioneer of the whole mobile Teepee idea. He will also be the main character and director of this series.
On the surface, Whistler-based Mason Mashon lives a charmed life. If you follow his adventures from the peripheral world of Instagram the 32-year old who refuses to be defined by any one term—mountain biker snowboarder photographer artist TV host—appears to always be at the centre of something radical. He’s surfing in Central America with his long-time girlfriend Diane. He’s photographing A-level freeride mountain bikers in remote B.C. locations. He’s floating above a bizarre Turkish landscape in a hot air balloon. He’s traveling across Russia on a ski trip…by train. Indeed the travels of Mashon are far-ranging unique and desirable but the life Mashon leads goes deeper than any Instagram profile could show.
We are excited to unveil our adventure with Mason Mashon.
In 2013 Mason starred in a 2 season TV show based on his photography and travel called "UnderExposed". Hosted on the APTN and Outdoor TV networks, this show followed Mason’s life as a freelance photographer and aired all across North America. You can see the first two seasons here: http://aptn.ca/underexposed/episode-guides/season-1/
Mason has won multiple awards for his photography and has had many published photos and cover shots for bike, surf, ski, snowboard and dirt bike magazines. A reoccurring theme throughout this series will be a focus on Mason's photography and the people that come together to film with him.
Teepee Town will be a documentary piece that will look into the lives of professional athletes and shed light on how they do their jobs. With a 'Behind the Scenes' style, we want to naturally showcase how these plans, people and photographs come together. We do not plan to have any acting, rehearsed dialog or unnatural scenes that will make the show seem staged. Instead, we want this to be a true to life adventure show that focuses on what really happens and documents the extremes of outdoor action sports.
The Teepee lodge will be the backbone and homestay for each episode. Our main characters, Mason and Rory, will show us how they find the perfect location and educate the viewer on what makes a spot “perfect”. Each episode will feature one or more athletes in their element that viewers will see and learn from. With each new location we will bring in new characters and new adventures.
Not everything goes according to plan, and this is very much a part of the show. We don't foresee a series where everything goes perfectly all the time. Weather, crashes, timing, availability, wildlife encounters and unforeseeable conflicts are just some of the factors that can cause delay or disaster at any time. We plan to embrace these challenges and incorporate them into the episodes. This is a big part of what will make this show real and exciting.
The idea is simple but original: set up a Teepee in a remote location, bring your toys, and enjoy the great outdoors with friends. A big goal for this show is to get people motivated and inspired to do this themselves.
This show will be a year-round adventure showcasing different sports and athletes for each season. Almost all Teepee locations will be set up in British Columbia simply because of the variety of terrain during any season and our familiarity with the area.
The summer months offer the greatest variety of action sports at any given time or location, which makes for an almost endless number of episode options.
The Teepee has previously been set up on the Fraser River at a zone that is ideal for mountain biking, dirt biking, base jumping and jet boating on the river. This zone is already featured in photos throughout this proposal and will be a primary location for the summer episodes.
Beach zones also offer a number of action sport opportunities. With plane access, we are able to land in remote locations like the Broken Group Islands. Beach episodes may feature surfing, dirt biking, scuba diving, base jumping, cliff jumping or any number of other activities.
To date there have been two Teepee setups on snow, one which is still set up and in use today. Both of these locations are close to Whistler, BC, with one in the alpine and accessible only by plane, snowmobile or helicopter.
These winter locations are ideal for all backcountry sports and feature terrain that many people do not know about and may never have the opportunity to visit. Surrounding areas consist of perfect pillow fields, cliff drops, jump zones, ice caves and incredible powder runs.
As always, we plan to bring the best skiers and riders out to Teepee town. Viewers will watch them push their winter sports to new extremes while they camp out under the stars. This is a dream come true for any athlete or adventurer alike.
Exciting new winter zones have already been scouted and are ready to go.
It may be his native heritage but somehow Mason has been gifted with a natural talent to maneuver and understand the outdoors. His degree in meteorology also helps him visualize the best locations and times for adventure. It may be called it a sixth sense but Mason has the ability to foresee the what is possible in the outdoors.
Mason has a vision and drive that is unparalleled. With his vision in photography to the creation of Teepee Town he always has an alternative idea brewing in his mind. But it's his work ethic that gets the job done, he's never sitting around.
Any free time is an opportunity to have fun!
On top of being a professional skier Rory tours with Nitro Circus, has won a celebrity dive show called "Splash", films for Hollywood commercials and spends his free time pushing the limits of what's possible
His skills in any outdoor terrain are also second to none. With a huge resume of death defying stunts under his belt you know it's not luck, he's a calculated expert with lots of experience.
Based on the last year alone it's obvious that everyone wants to come visit Teepee Town. If you're an athlete or adventure seeker there is nothing that comes close to this experience.
Through our network of friends and contacts in the actions sports world we feel very confident we are able to get the worlds best athletes on board for the show. When this show is in production we expect a massive social media reach and viewership coming from multiple actions sports genres.

Each location needs a unique set of transportation vehicles to maximize the spot's potential. Below are a few vehicles that will be used to make sure each zone is being used to it's full potential.
Seagull Feather - 1953 Cessna 180 4-Seat Plane
The ultimate get-away plane "Seagull Feather" is owned by Rory Bushfield and is the primary mode of transportation. It's used to scout all new Teepee zones and will be the machine to transport the Teepee canvas to all new spots.
It's customizable for winter and summer locations. In the summer it's large inflated tires can land on sand and gravel terrain making it idea for beaches and mountain landing zones.
In the winter there are skis that attach to the wheels making the plane capable of landing on snow and glaciers.
Helicopters - B105 Twin Engine & 2011 Robinson R44 Raven
Bradley Friesen and Ed Russell are both helicopter pilots who own their own helicopters. They have frequented the Teepee many times in the past and are our main guys when it comes to helicopters services.
Bradley is a YouTube star with millions of views on his social media channels. He regularly collaborates with Mason and Rory on all things adventurous and he's always excited to be a part of Teepee town. With his social media reach he is not just a helicopter pilot but a great person to help promote the show. View his social media channels HERE and HERE
Jet Boats & RZR's
Our good friend Danny at CampoBC Adventures is another outdoor enthusiast with lots of toys and he's always down for a good time.
His business is custom adventure tours around the Sea-to-Sky corridor, offering people a full day of Jet boat rides, RZR tours, helicopter adventures and much more.
Another advocate of Teepee town, he has expressed plenty of interest in using his equipment to make this show as good as it can be.

Snowmobiles, Dirtbikes & Snowbikes
The funnest and cheapest way to get around is always by personal off road machine.
The only thing holding back new ideas is your own creativity!
Think it up and make it happen, anything is possible.

Mountain Life magazine released their spring 2017 issue with Teepee town on the cover and a four page article inside. Photos were taken by Mason and his girlfriend Dianne
A video series called "Seeking Nirvana" highlighted teepee town in the film "Under The Moonlight". Start at 4:04 to see the content.
Bradley Friesen is a helicopter pilot and YouTube star. He has flown around Teepee Town and documented a few days of adventures which you can see below.
Jon Olsson is a professional skier, YouTube sensation and European superstar. On this daily YouTube Vlog Jon and friends go check out the one and only winter teepee.
The show will be produced by Mile End Media (MEM) in collaboration with other actions sports subcontractors. MEM's primarily focus is Outdoor Action Adventure films with a documentary feel. MEM has been in business for over 5 years and the owner Jan Schuster has been creating action sports films for over 15 years. You can view the MEM showreel HERE, see our subcontractors and more information HERE and check out all our other business details via the links at the top of the page.
The MEM team has been long time friends with Mason, Rory and the rest of the people involved with this series which is the key factor in creating the best show possible.
We are envisioning this series to have a very smooth, polished, cinematic look but will also feature handheld shots for specific scenes and interviews. This polished look is achieved by using cinematic Red cameras, quality cinema lenses and aerial cinematography. MEM and subcontractors have been shooting on Red and other 4k+ cameras for over 5 years.
The series will be shot on Red cameras in 4k or higher resolution. A combination of other cameras such as GoPro, Sony A7SII and FS7 are also likely to be used at times when needed.
For aerials we plan to shoot with a Red on a Movi Pro from a helicopter, professional 4k+ drones and hopefully a Cineflex system.
MEM also has stabilizer mounts for cars, boats and off road RZR vehicles. These tools are used create Hollywood calibre shots and will be a big part of the filming if the correct funding can be achieved.
We are pitching a 4 - 8 part series to start, with the goal of turning this into a multi-year series. There are many options within the Teepee landscape but we foresee 60% of the episodes created during the summer and 40% during the winter months.
Our distribution plans are flexible at this time. We are open to ideas and would entertain the options for either web or television platforms as a final destination for the content.
Since our distribution ideas flexible we are also able to work on ideal episode time lengths. We are capable of creating content for any length of production because our resources and locations are endless. Which ever length is preferred we can work out details in our pre-production phase to guarantee an exciting show.
The ideas for each episode is only limited by our imaginations and we have everything in place to make this show happen.
We hope you are excited about the series and we look forward to collaborating with you on this adventure!
